Marine litter knows no borders…..but with joined efforts, we can fight against climate change and the reduction of environmental pollution.
At the Laboratory Group organised by TESIM project during the EU Regions WEEK on 10 October 2019 in Brussels, one of the speakers is a beneficiary of the ENI CBC Black Sea Basin Programme. Mr Fatih Konukcu, the representative of the Lead beneficiary (Namik Kemal University from Turkey) of the project Zero Waste Strategy for Good Environmental Status (ZEWSGES, BSB257) will share his project experience about tackling marine litter.

The project Zero Waste Strategy for Good Environmental Status (ZEWSGES, BSB257) is proposing the concept of Zero Waste with a theoretical and a practical perspective. Common methodologies will be developed to collect both social and economic data, which will be addressed to develop comparable datasets for evaluation at the EU level. On desk research will be supplemented by clean-up operations of shorelines and the seafloor as well as school and public education programmes.
