On the 18th of September 2013, in Bucharest, Romania, the JMA for the Black Sea Basin Programme hosted a training session for beneficiaries under the Programme, while also celebrating the European Cooperation (EC) Day. On EC Day, the European Union celebrates the achievements of more than 20 years of Territorial Cooperation across European regions.

This occasion was a practical platform to discuss the key issues of cross-border cooperation at all levels and an effective instrument for dialogue and experience exchange between all interested parties. The event succeeded in building up pragmatic and mutually beneficial relations between states and partners and revealed how cross-border cooperation projects are reducing obstacles and disparities, while increasing cultural understanding and efficiency between European regions.

Representatives of NGOs and local, regional and state authorities from six neighboring European countries and European Union countries took part at this event. Participants discussed about the current state of cross-border cooperation and ways of successfully implementing the projects. Special attention was paid to the rules and procedures of the Black Sea Basin Programme 2007-2013. During the event, the participants gave live interviews regarding their cross-border cooperation experience and ensured the partners of their continued diligent work and cooperation.
