The Association for Sustainable Development “Prut – Danube” Galati equipped the protected area Lunca Joasă a Prutului Inferior in Galati County, from Cavadinești to Braniștea, with 50 selective recycle bins. The local towns from Galati Fishing areas where the bins are placed will ensure their proper maintenance. The purpose is to turn waste into a resource and diminish the negative impact on the environment.

Each bin for selective waste collection is a 3 division recycle bin market with colours of waste and recycling in Romania: blue for paper and cardboard; yellow for plastic and metal and green for glass.

The project team is actively involved in raising public awareness and concern on environmental challenges to reduce their impact on the environment for the benefit of nature and humans. Particular attention is paid to the development of ecological and responsible behavior of the citizens, especially of the young generation.
