What’s NEXT in Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme? Launching for public consultation of the Application Pack for the 1st call for project proposals

UPDATE - 8 December 2022

Thank you all for your engagement in the public consultations and for the valuable contributions which will entail the improvement of the Application Pack for the 1st call for project proposals.

We are aware that the novelties contained in the new EU legal framework for the 2021-2027 period, applicable to all Interreg programmes and reflected accordingly in our Programme documents, may be challenging both for you, as potential beneficiaries of the Interreg NEXT BSB Programme and for us, as management structures. For an efficient and timely implementation of the Programme and projects, it is important to find the best approaches on how to tackle these challenges in our joint activity.

The revised version of the Application pack will try to reflect both the needs of the Black Sea Basin community and the innovative approaches for a sound financial management of Programme and projects.

Please keep an eye on the website for news regarding the approval of the Programme and the launch of the 1st call for proposals.

The draft Application Pack for the 1st call for project proposals under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme is now published for consultation.

While the programming process for Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme is heading to an end, the last step being the approval by the European Commission, the managing structures prepare the implementation and the first draft of the Application Pack for the 1st call for project proposals, envisaged to be launched at the beginning of 2023.

In the 2021-2027 programming period, a total budget of 59 million Euros (Interreg funds) is available for projects in the field of research and innovation, climate change adaptation, disaster risk prevention and resilience, protection and preservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure.

The share of funding will be 90% from the Interreg funds (European Regional Development Fund, Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument and Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance pooled together) and 10% co-financing from the own contribution of the beneficiaries.

Other details regarding the Programme and the calls, information and recommendations intended to help the applicants to prepare the content of the project application, to understand the project selection criteria and the decision making procedure, may be found in the documents that are generically called the Application Pack.

There will be two calls for proposals launched, one for regular projects and one for small scale projects and separate Application Packs will be developed for each call, but given the high extent of similarity, currently a single set of documents is published for consultations.
