Artium Center in Nessebar is once again hosting a cartographic exhibition presenting the importance of the Black Sea for European development. The presence of the region on geographical maps from antiquity to the present day reflects the changes and trends in cartography and demonstrates the importance of the Black Sea coast to the continent over the centuries.

The exhibition, which is presented within the sustainability period of the project BSB867 Black Sea Portal for Archaeology, History and Culture - ARHICUP, consists of 30 panels. They trace the idea of the Black Sea from the oldest chronologically preserved spatial images to the present day with explanatory texts and illustrated material. The maps on display are reproductions of originals.

As a result of the project activities, a modern online portal for digitally accessible cultural heritage sites from the Black Sea region was built https://arhicup.net/bg/. It stores a rich documentary archive created through photogrammetric images, including interactively presented iconic exhibits from the partner museums, 3D archaeological sites, etc. The repository continues to expand. It is available to representatives of the tourism sector, as well as to experts from scientific circles and the general audience.

The exhibition can be visited every day from 10:00 a.m. until 20:00 in the lobby of the Artium Center in Nessebar until the end of July.
