Within the project Zero Waste Strategy: Methods and Implementation in Black Sea Basin – ZeroWasteBSB (BSB788), a pilot action will be implemented with a Zero Waste System covering all 39 villages belonging to Kirklareli, Vize and Demirkoy Districts with a Black Sea Coast Line.
The Zero Waste System includes the separation of biodegradable and packaging waste. Two containers will be placed in each village: the bulky container (3 m3) will be used for collecting domestic waste and the container with a volume of 800 liters will be used for collecting packaging waste.
Once a week, the mobile waste centers (vehicles) will collect the waste. With the support of the Special Provincial Administration, the biodegradable waste will be composted and delivered to the villagers for use in agriculture.
The packaging waste will be delivered by the mobile waste centers to the recycling facilities.
The containers and the mobile waste centers (vehicles) are purchased and will be soon integrated into the system. Further, an ITC tool will be developed to calculate the collected waste, the type of the waste, and the population involved in the pilot action.
