The lead beneficiary of the project Development and promotion of the common heritage – DPCH (BSB1010) finalized the reconstruction and modernization of the Dora Gabe -1940 Community Cultural Center in the village of Dubovik, Bulgaria.
The building of the Dora Gabe – 1940 Community Cultural Center was built between 1940 and 1959 and is located in the center of the village of Dubovik. The adjoining courtyard of the building is shaped as a recreation park, part of the green system of the village, with a little square space where the bust-monument of the poet is placed in.
Dora Gabe – 1940 Community Cultural Center is a cultural center for the local population hosting representative events, celebrations, literary readings and other cultural events with a large participation of local and visiting groups. It is also a museum exposition connecting with the life of the patron of the center, and in the foyer, there are presented typical costumes and household objects of the local residents.
The reconstruction of the building preserves the purpose of the building and all the premises. The investment includes major overhaul of the building, electrical installation and development of the surrounding area – repair and renovation of pavements, staircases, etc. Park lighting with LED lamps are installed.
