Co-Resilience (BSB00026) - Call for Contributions

The International Conference on “Innovative Technologies and Methods for Prevention, Mitigation, and Monitoring of Wildfires Connecting to Climate Change” invites contributions from researchers, practitioners, policymakers and industry experts to present and explore innovative solutions for wildfire management in the context of climate change.

Wildfires have become a growing threat due to climate change with increasing frequency and intensity across the Black Sea Basin and beyond. This conference, organized under the Co-Resilience (BSB00026) project, aims to facilitate knowledge exchange on cutting-edge technologies and best practices in wildfire prevention, mitigation, and monitoring.

Call for Contributions

We welcome contributions that explore innovative approaches to wildfire management and climate adaptation, including but not limited to:

  • Early warning systems and wildfire forecasting;
  • Remote sensing, GIS, and AI applications in wildfire monitoring;
  • Nature-based solutions for wildfire risk reduction and management;
  • Community-based fire prevention strategies and resilience-building;
  • Policy and governance frameworks for climate adaptation and resilience;
  • Cross-border collaboration and joint fire management strategies;
  • Technological innovations in fire suppression and emergency response;
  • Public awareness and engagement in wildfire prevention.

Session Format

The conference sessions will feature a mix of presentations and interactive discussions, including:

✅ Keynote presentations from leading experts in wildfire management and climate adaptation.
✅ Contributor talks showcasing case studies, innovative technologies, and policy insights.
✅ Panel discussions with policymakers, researchers, and industry professionals.
✅ Demonstrations and exhibitions of cutting-edge wildfire prevention and monitoring solutions.

Submission Details

📩 Expression of Interest:

Please submit a work title, authors’ affiliation and an abstract (max 250 words) highlighting whether your contribution focuses on prevention, mitigation, monitoring, or cross-border collaboration or technologies in these fields.
📅 Deadline: Submissions must be sent by April 15, 2025.

Full Paper Submission /not obligatory/

Interested researchers will have the opportunity to submit their full papers for publication in scientific journals after the conference. The full papers should be submitted directly to the journals. This does not guarantee publication since the papers will proceed to a regular peer review process.
