AgroNet (BSB-294) – Methodology workshop-training

On February 17-19, 2019, the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) organized a methodology workshop-training on how to identify and shortlist the main agricultural products and services with a potential for export and import within the BSB countries and how to conduct the export-import feasibility studies on the already shortlisted products and services. The workshop-training conducted in the frame of the project, entitled Piloting Modern Trading Opportunities in Agriculture through Creation of Innovative Online Platform – AgroNet, was held in Tbilisi.

During the two-day workshop-training session, followed by the team building/wrap up meeting the group of experts/researchers of Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), Varna Economic Development Agency (VEDA) and SMART Development Center (SMART) identified the main agricultural products and services with a potential for export and import within the BSB countries of Georgia, Bulgaria and Romania. Partners elaborated the criteria according to which based on the already identified list of products they will shortlist 5 to 10 products to be studied per each country. Project implementing partners clarified and agreed on the principles of the methodology guideline developed by GIPA for conducting the export-import feasibility studies. Apart from that, partners planned the next steps of the study implementation related activities, discussed issues related to the cooperation, coordination and communication.
