The European Commission, together with the Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection, is pleased to announce the 4th annual Black Sea stakeholder conference, which will take place on 15 September 2017 in Batumi, Georgia.
This event will discuss the challenges and opportunities for the blue economy in the Black Sea region, including the 2016 Bucharest declaration on sustainable fisheries, and bring together successful entrepreneurs and policy makers on the table to debate on how to:
- support blue growth,
- support integration,
- share innovative business practices,
- improve marine knowledge and enhance marine environment
- promote maritime careers,
- identify sources of funding for maritime projects and
- seek partners to fulfil them.
Key speakers will include Mr Karmenu Vella, EU Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and Mr Giorgi Gakharia, Minister for Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and Mr Gigla Agulashvili, Minister for Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia.
