(Interreg VI-B) NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme will strengthen the existing links between the participating countries and build new ones in the field of research and innovation and environmental protection. The Programme will therefore build upon and deepen the cross-border cooperation in the Black Sea Basin area in a transnational configuration.

ENI CBC Black Sea Basin Programme 2014-2020 is part of European Union’s Cross-Border Cooperation (CBC) under its European Neighbourhood Instrument (ENI). The overall objective is to improve the welfare of the people in the Black Sea Basin regions through sustainable growth and joint environmental protection.

The event organized in the framework of the project Less vulnerability, more adaptability – pilot remote sensing assisted restoration of green spaces in coastal and urban areas within the Black sea region will focus on the presentation of project methodology and preliminary findings of the piloting regions, with the purpose of conducting discussions and workshops with local stakeholders and representatives from municipalities, local authorities, business sector, etc, and partners of the project.

In the framework of the project BlackNETs - Exorcising the BLACK Sea's Silent Killers, the Institute of Oceanology – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (IO-BAS), together with the Center for Underwater Archaeology, local diving clubs, and Destination Touristic Services – Bulgaria, is keeping up the tradition of kicking off the summer season with coastal clean-up events along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
The initiative isn’t just about cleaning up — it’s about celebrating marine sciences, protecting our beautiful marine environment, and inspiring more people to join us in building a sustainable future for our coastal areas.
