The first meeting of the Joint Programming Committee – body responsible for the preparation of the Interreg NEXT (Neighbourhood External) Black Sea Basin Programme 2021-2027 – was held on the 29th of January 2020 in Brussels, Belgium. The eligible participating countries of the new Programme involves ten states from the Black Sea Basin: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russian Federation, Turkey and Ukraine.
The representatives of the participating countries, European Commission and European External Action Service (EEAS) discussed the strategic elements that should govern the programming exercise 2021-2027 and agreed the stages for the elaboration of the future Programme.
In addition, it was agreed that the Romanian Ministry of Public Works, Development and Administration will continue to fulfil the role of Managing Authority for the third programming period.
The Managing Authority, with the support of TESIM ENI CBC – technical assistance project funded by the EU – will hold consultations with key actors during 2020 over the eligible area of the new Programme. Also, the documents of public interest regarding the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme 2021-2027 will be published on this website.
The European Union needs to show concrete results of its cooperation and development actions, and so does the ENI CBC community. At all times, communication activities should pursue the overall objective of increasing the knowledge of cross-border cooperation at the external borders of the EU and its position as a valuable, strategic tool for the EU and its neighbours.
DG Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE) and The Joint Research Centre, in cooperation with DG Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO), are organising the Workshop “Smart Specialisation for Sustainable Blue Economy” on 6 July 2021, at 09.00 – 12.45 CET.
The training sessions are organised by the programme management structures and are aiming to enhance capacity of beneficiaries to collect, consolidate and report the progress achieved by the projects.
