The fifth meeting of the Joint Monitoring Committee for ENI CBC Black Sea Basin Programme was held online on 11 December 2020.
The representatives of the eight partner states analyzed the status of projects implementation, as well as the financial resources currently available in the programme budget.
Up to now, 53 projects have been contracted with a total value of 42.5 million euro (ENI funds). Further, 2 more projects, with a total value around 2 million euro (ENI funds), are in the contracting phase. So far, the value of the payments reached 24.4 million euro (ENI funds).
Following the discussions during the meeting, it was agreed to contract a new project from the reserve list of applications selected after the second call for project proposals and whose budget falls within the amount currently available at the programme level.
Participants in the meeting also received information on the measures taken by the program management structures to facilitate the implementation of project activities, taking into account the restrictions in force in the programme countries.
The European Union needs to show concrete results of its cooperation and development actions, and so does the ENI CBC community. At all times, communication activities should pursue the overall objective of increasing the knowledge of cross-border cooperation at the external borders of the EU and its position as a valuable, strategic tool for the EU and its neighbours.
DG Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE) and The Joint Research Centre, in cooperation with DG Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO), are organising the Workshop “Smart Specialisation for Sustainable Blue Economy” on 6 July 2021, at 09.00 – 12.45 CET.
