Black Sea Initiative for Sturgeon Sustainability

Black Sea region faces several challenges threatening its sturgeon populations due to overfishing and illegal fishing, habitat degradation, pollution, climate change, genetic erosion, inadequate conservation policies and limited research data. The main
objective of the project is to protect and sustainably manage sturgeon populations in the Black Sea Basin through enhanced international cooperation, scientific research, monitoring, and conservation activities.
