Preventing the erosion of sandy Black Sea coasts through a nature-based solution
Accelerated coastal erosion driven by climate change and human pressures is severely degrading sandy shores and ecosystems across the Black Sea basin, threatening coastal communities and biodiversity. The project addresses this by developing and testing a transnational, nature-based solution that stabilizes sandy coasts through the restoration of Zostera noltii habitats, supported by regional cooperation and pilot actions to ensure long-term, sustainable erosion mitigation.
