Cooperation for Smart Waste Management Solutions and Pollution Reduction in the Urban, Rural and Coastal areas of the Black Sea Basin
The Black Sea Basin faces significant river and marine pollution caused by inadequate waste management systems, low recycling rates, limited infrastructure, weak innovation uptake, and low public awareness. The Wise Waste project addresses these challenges through cross-border cooperation by introducing smart and innovative waste management technologies, strengthening institutional capacity, promoting recycling and circular economy practices, and engaging communities—especially youth—to significantly reduce river and marine litter pollution.
