Co-NatureGuard

Cooperation for Wildfires Prevention and Nature Preservation in Protected Areas of the Black Sea Basin

Protected areas across the Black Sea region face increasing and poorly coordinated wildfire risks due to fragmented institutional responsibilities, limited monitoring systems, and insufficient cross-border cooperation. The Co-NatureGuard project establishes a transnational framework that strengthens institutional coordination, deploys advanced wildfire monitoring technologies, conducts comprehensive risk analyses, and implements joint training and preparedness actions to improve wildfire prevention and response across more than 75 protected areas in the Black Sea Basin.
